EVANGELIZING THROUGH THEATER 545u71
This activity will count with the participation of a total of 16 actors and missionary musicians from the Community, as well as of the Shalom Work.
“We want to transmit a message of hope through art, taking advantage of the presence of the pilgrims and faithful who will gather in Rome for the Jubilee. It will be a simple and respectful representation, with the purpose of evangelizing through an artistic and participative language”, emphasizes Fabiola Inzunza, missionary of the Community of Life and responsible for the San Lorenzo Center in Rome.
“DANTE WITHOUT HOPE” 3l29m
The theme of the representation is based on the character of Dante, who, young and confused in his exile, lives a moment of intense inner crisis. Alone and lonely, he finds refuge in art and begins to write down his thoughts, giving birth to the Divine Comedy. His thoughts take form and expression through art: dance, music, theater and visual arts. Dante interacts and relates to his artistic thoughts.
Actors of different nationalities participate in the play, acting and singing in several languages. At the end, Dante finds himself in front of Heaven, where he finds hope. The play is divided into 4 scenes: introduction, Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. Each scene is accompanied by an instrument.
